Hie-Tori is the health method Yoshiharu Shindo,
M.D. developed in Japan. Hie means "Coldness"
and Tori means "Remove" in Japanese.
What causes disease and what are the best ways to prevent
illness? Contrary to popular belief, the answers are not based
in nutrition and exercise. Dr. Shindo found the answers to
these questions through research into traditional oriental
medicine. The two main ideas, which are the basis for Hie-Tori
practice, are maintaining good blood circulation and
discharging poisonous toxins/waste matter from the body.
In traditional oriental medicine, keeping the upper half
of the body cool and keeping the lower half of the body warm
is critical to good health. Blood circulates naturally throughout
the body, but if you have coldness (hie) in your
body, it will disrupt the smooth flow of blood in the circulatory
system. Since the heart beats for 24 hours and emits heat,
the upper part of your body gets warmer than the lower parts.
If you have hie in the lower parts of your body, it will cause
blood vessels to shrink and prevent good circulation. When
blood does not circulate well, we have stiff shoulders, headaches
and other forms of ill health. If nothing is done about this
condition, health problems will worsen. According to Dr. Shindo,
this is the cause of ALL disease.
Many concepts of the "Hie-Tori" are covered
in much more detail in the
Hie-Tori guide book, "Hie-Tori : Natural
Healing for All Illnesses" (available soon.)
As you may know, physical and mental conditions are interrelated;
therefore, along with the improvement of your physical condition,
your mental status also improves. The purpose of the Hie-Tori
method is not only to cure an individual's illness, but also
to achieve the ultimate goal of changing one's mindset to
be able to consider others in order to make society and the
universe better. However, if you are sick, you might give
troubles to others instead of being useful; therefore, at
first, you need to be in a healthy condition, both physically
and mentally. Then, it is easier for you to be able to make
an effort to help others. Hie-Tori is for everybody
and for everything.
