What to expect during Hie-Tori practice

At the outset of practicing Hie-Tori, you will experience immediate changes in your body, If you experience headaches or sleepiness at first, it is important to continue this practice as these initial side-effects are to be expected. As blood circulation improves, these initial side-effects will go away.

Persistent symptoms that have bothered you will often disappear or be relieved. This is because smooth blood circulation enables your body to rid itself of poisonous toxins that have accumulated over time. Continuing Hie-Tori will prevent toxins from building up in your body again.

If the symptoms in your body do not improve, your body is still eliminating toxins. There may be so much poisonous matter in your system that all the toxins are being discharged. Because of this, it may seem that your symptoms are not improving. If your health does not improve, you may need to wear more pairs of socks and practice longer half-bathing. When you go to bed you can also use a hot water bottle for your feet to help keeping the proper body temperature.

Hie-Tori will not be effective unless it is practiced correctly. For example, you might think that you are practicing Hie-Tori correctly but you may only be wearing one to three pairs of socks. You might also be practicing half-bathing for only fifteen minutes and you may still be eating three big meals a day.

You may develop new symptoms or your present symptoms may even become worse. This is a sign that the natural healing process is taking place---”Mengen”. You are now able to discharge poisonous matter which has not been previously possible. If your symptoms persist or you do not feel well, this does not mean that your condition has been aggravated but rather is due to your body’s increased ability to release poisonous matter. If this happens, increase the number of socks you are wearing (you should be wearing at least six pairs of socks), wear long underwear and increase the time that you soak in your bath to one or two hours per day. There is no harm but benefit on wearing more socks or taking more half-baths. It would also be helpful if you could reduce the frequency of your meals (or eliminate a meal) and eat in greater moderation.

If you are feeling fine, your body is still constantly discharging toxins and it is important to maintain your Hie-Tori practice. Even when you don’t have specific health issues, the discharge of poisons alleviates such conditions as dry skin, dandruff, belching, bad breath and so on. You may not specifically notice what is taking place but when you are rid of poisonous toxins, you will feel at ease, cheerful and your ability to concentrate will be improved. Once health conditions improve, some people may be prone to go back to their old lifestyle and begin toxic build up once again. It is important to understand that Hie-Tori is a daily practice to maintain good health and prevent disease.

Your state of mind is also an important part of the Hie-Tori practice. When you worry about your symptoms getting worse, your symptoms will in fact, worsen. Hie-Tori is about living a fit life, not eating too much and not worrying about your health.
